Residential Childcare Qualifications
We specialise in qualifications for children’s residential care professionals, specifically designed for those working within Ofsted-regulated children’s homes across England and aligned with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
From Level 2 safeguarding through to Level 3, Level 5 and Level 7 care and leadership qualifications, we support residential childcare professionals at every stage of their development.
Qualifications for Residential Childcare Professionals
Diploma for Residential Childcare
The Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare is designed for Residential Support Workers, Senior Support Workers and Team Leaders working in children’s homes. It supports the qualification requirements of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and must be completed within the required timeframe.

Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is designed for Registered Managers, Deputy Managers and aspiring residential childcare leaders. It develops the knowledge and leadership skills required to effectively manage and lead an Ofsted-regulated children’s home.
Level 7
Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management
The Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management is designed for experienced Registered Managers, Responsible Individuals and senior leaders. It develops advanced strategic leadership and management skills for professionals overseeing multiple services or driving organisational development and improvement.
The first qualification of its kind in the UK, developed by Social Care Academy in partnership with Innovate Awarding specifically for safeguarding in children’s residential care. Delivered face-to-face and assessed through a professional discussion, the qualification covers the end-to-end safeguarding process within children’s homes, strengthening safeguarding knowledge, confidence and professional practice.
Suitable for professionals at all levels, including Residential Support Workers, Senior Support Workers, Team Leaders, Deputy Managers, Registered Managers, Responsible Individuals and senior leaders.
